  • Inulin (3.2g): An ingredient that is generally taken from chicory root but can also be obtained from certain other plant sources. Inolin is primarily used as a treatment for constipation. Other alleged beneifts include improved mineral absorption and relief from intestinal problems.
  • Glucomannan (1g): A water soluble fire taken from the roots of the konjac plant. Skinny Sprinkles provides the amount recommended by the EFSA and is intended to be used in accordance with their usage guidelines, so it is has a lot of potential as a weight loss aid.

This is quite an expensive product to use though and it’ s sold without a money back guarantee. This is an issue worth noting because customer reviews suggest it may not be a good option for all.

There appears to be issues regarding the taste, and some people claim it did not work for them. It is hard to say why a lack of results may be an issue, but it is possible the appetite suppressing abilities of glucomannan may be being reduced by one of the other ingredients.

This is a natural fiber that is sourced from the roots of a plant called elephant yam. Konjac fibers soak up water like a sponge and, once hydrated, they expand considerably. When people take konjac-providing supplements with adequate water the presence of the swollen fibers fills the digestive organs and makes the stomach feel so full it reduces hunger urges.

The ingredient has been approved by the European Food Safety Autority, but the EFSA stress konjac only works if three 1000mg doses are taken each day, before meals, with at least two glasses of water.

We were unable to find any inclusion rates, but the ingredients appear to be:

  • Cola de Caballo: A plant extract that is sometimes added to cellulite reducing creams. When used in topical products of this nature, it appears to have some degree of potential, but cola de caballo is unlikely to work in the same way when it is taken by mouth.
  • Bitter Orange: An ingredient taken from a species of citrus fruit. Bitter orange provides a fat burning stimulant called synephrine.
